Ian Cheng Brings Gaming and Art Together In A Brand New World Entirely

Ian Cheng creates art through video games engine. He describes his art as a continuous video game that plays itself “Cheng’s simulations evolve endlessly as self-contained ecosystems” writes the Met Museum in their abstract.

Another cool thing about it is that the exhibition runs to a young and kicking space named ‘Twitch’, which is a very successful platform for gamers to show their gaming live. It provides you with the feeling that gaming and art are very much alike.

I watch it and find myself hooked. What’s this weird thing?

Actually, you can watch “Ian Cheng: Emissaries” right now (runs live until September 25th):

It’s his first solo display and it’s appearing now at New York Met Museum. Ian is a 33 years old American artist apparently very known for his live simulations.
