Until I bumped into “Madam Secretary” on the remote I was completely indifferent to Tea Leoni. She plays the White House Secretary of State in a truly she-boss way, it’s inspiring. Although the writing of each episode’s plot is not blessed with extreme scripting talent, she is mesmerizing to watch.
Her character is a leader, true to her team but knows to put them in their place when needed. She plays a real mother to three teenagers, with all the faults and concerns, but with the comic sense a mother only keeps to her family members. The Madam Secretary knows she has power and is not afraid to show it with high ranking officials, but when she is required she knows to be humble, with out losing her inner self confidence.
She also has excellent style, lots of it. Showing a position were a combination of keeping an official suit look with a touch of feminine. That plus having a blonde blonde hair while looking super professional.
It’s known already that ‘Bess’ is going to the oath and sit in the oval office, at least for a few hours. That will be a joy, looking forward.
